ENDOSCOPIC TOTALLY EXTRAPERITONEAL HERNIOPLASTY IN INGUINAL HERNIA SURGERY

Abstract
Aim. To evaluate the efficacy of endoscopic totally extraperitoneal hernia repair in patients with inguinal hernia. Material and methods. In 2016 four men with unilateral primary inguinal hernias were performed endoscopic totally extraperitoneal hernia repair. Results and discussion. The operative time ranged from 50 minutes to 1.5 hours, all the patients were discharged 3-4 days after the surgery. Postoperatively, there was no evidence of false cysts of the spermatic cord or transposition of the mesh graft. Conclusions. 1. Short-term results of endoscopic totally extraperitoneal hernia repair in patients with inguinal hernias showed no clinically significant complications in the postoperative period. 2. If high-grade material and technical equipment as well as suitably qualified surgeons are available, the operation is safe and effective and can be implemented into daily surgical practice.
