Abstract
The principles of operation of gravimeters and gravity gradiometers, allowing to measure the anomalies of the gravitational field, are considered in the article. The estimation of accuracy of gravity gradiometers and prospects of its increase are carried out. To study the characteristics of the correlation-extreme navigation system along the field of gravitational anomalies, the author developed its model. The article presents the results of modeling, on the basis of which it is possible to draw a conclusion about the optimal configuration of such a system, the number of sensors necessary for operation, the limits of its applicability. Analysis of simulation results presented in this article allows to determine the prospects of using navigation systems of this type. The area of application of such a system is such special equipment as ships, submarines, various aircraft.
