SERAT INSULATOR PANAS RAMAH LINGKUNGAN BERBAHAN DASAR RECYCLED POLYPROPYLENE DARI LIMBAH TUTUP BOTOL AIR MINERAL

Abstract
Greenhouse gases are efecting global climate change makes increment of earth surface temperature. This condition is infuencing to decrease of building comfortability, glass wool or polyester fiber is needed to overcome this situation. Recycled polypropylene fiber which produced through melt spinning from bottle cap waste of mineral water has a great alternative as thermal insulator fiber. Application of thermal insulator fiber from bottle cap waste can reduce the temperature up to 25.4%, this result is still lower than common thermal insulator fiber made from polyester and glass wool. Thermal insulation of recycled polypropylene can be improved by texturizing process in order to create bulky structure in fibers flock that would be filled by air which is also great thermal insulator.
