STRUCTURAL AND SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF ADJECTIVAL POETICAL METAPHORS (THE RUSSIAN CONTEMPORARIES’ POETRY CASE STUDY)

The article deals with the characteristics of the concept of metaphor as a key of tropes and figures of speech of a poet, the so-called poetic language; the excursion into a metaphor based on the history has been made: on the one hand, it has been represented not only the interpretation of metaphor by the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle, as well as the understanding of metaphorical image of the Roman theorist of oratory Quintilian, and, on the other hand, it has been characterized by the doctrine of metaphor in domestic science, which takes its beginning with the earliest times of Kievan Rus; definition of the concept of adjectival metaphor has been provided for qualitative trait expression assessment and expressive markings in order to enhance the reader's imagination. The taxonomy of adjectival metaphors has been given on the material of poetry of the Russian contemporaries.
