ON THE ISSUE OF FUNCTIONAL AND SEMANTIC TYPES OF NOMINATIVE RUSSIAN SENTENCES IN THE MODERN LINGUISTIC STUDIES

Abstract
The article highlights the functional and semantic types of the following nominative sentences: 1) existential sentences, performing a descriptive function (the existential itself and subject-existential ones); 2) demonstrative sentences dominating by the value of beingness, existence (demonstrative nominative sentences indicating the object or phenomenon, if any; demonstrative nominative sentences indicating the previously mentioned or the expected object or phenomenon); 3) evaluative sentences combining its content ascertaining the existence of objects and their emotional assessment; 4) the nominative sentences themselves acting in the form of inscriptions, names of institutions, organizations, and ships, books, etc.; 5) incentive sentences, by means of which the necessity or desirability of the appearance of the subject is approved or a noun in the direct case is called; 6) sentences with “nominative concepts” ascertaining the views on the subject.
