Abstract
In the article the issues of classification of Stone Age silicon processing workshops in Middle Asia are considered, the majority of which is situated on the territory of Uzbekistan. The old classification of Middle Asia by M.R. Kasymov and L.Ya. Krizhevskaya distinguished two types of workshops: workshops themselves, covering all monuments of such kind and workshop settlement Kyzylkyr. In the article, due to discovery of the new silicon processing workshops Kukayaz 1-8 on the territory of Kyzylkum, the abovementioned classification is upgraded with the third type – Stone Age Middle Asian specialized workshops (Yesen 2, Karakuduk, Shakhpakhty, Kukayaz 1-8). Moreover, specialized workshops are divided into two types: “limited” (the Middle Paleolithic) ones and workshops “in a broad sense”.
