TRAGIC ELEMENT IN A.P. CHEKHOV’S OEUVRE

The issue of tragic elements in Chekhov's works remains largely undeveloped. At the same time, this issue is inherent in the uniqueness of artistic philosophy, and in many respects it is a new way to understand the concept of human and world in the writer's work. It is necessary to identify the conditions, identity and forms of tragic element in the A.P. Chekhov's works, to reveal the development of the tragic character.
