Abstract
Colleagues and friends congratulate Irina Nikolaevna Vasilyeva, candidate of historical sciences, senior researcher of the Laboratory of Archaeology with the Volga Region Social Humanitarian Academy, on her birth anniversary. I.N. Vasilyeva, A.A. Bobrinsky's disciple, specializes in ancient pottery of different epochs, from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. She has coordinated the studies of dozens of settlements and burial grounds. The problem of developing the structure of scientific experiment and its application in the study of ancient ceramics plays a significant role in her research activity. Starting 1990 to the present, I.N. Vasilyeva has been one of coordinators of the Samara experimental expedition for the study of ancient pottery, a unique center in Russia where young scientists from all over the country and the neighboring states are trained in methods of ancient pottery study.
