Abstract
It is known that the use of alcohol is an increasingly important problem nowadays, and that alcohol production and consumption have increased in recent years. Alcohol users can be said to be recreational, to cope with stress, to get attention, to social drink, not to be alone around friends when it comes to the main reasons for drinking alcohol. The leisure environment that begins with alcohol can be traumatized by a traffic accident, wounded by a close friend, or even ended in death. Today, with such various examples, the danger that alcohol use creates on people, family and society has reached unimaginable dimensions. Studies have shown that alcohol-using men are more widespread in Turkey, and recently, as in other countries, alcohol use is increasing in Turkey. In this study, the effect of alcohol use in Turkey on the causes of alcohol use, sex, age and use cases was examined. In this study, data were analyzed by using Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U Tests, and according to these results, alcohol use is largely based on gender and age criteria, on the basis of curiosity, friend influence and social reasons for entertainment. However, even when there is no reason for the individual to start drinking alcohol, the situation emerges as a situation that can not be ignored.
