Abstract
Mass media and especially the mainstream media has developed into the most important opinion forming instrument after WW2. That is why usually the mainstream media is used to promote certain economic or political interests. This profoundly affects the democratic processes and by these, it affects the political security in particular, the human security in general. That is why the present paper is an appeal for political scientists to do some deep objective research on this field of media and politics and blow the whistle about the sideslips of the mass-media, in order to fight for and to preserve democratic principles, freedoms and liberties.
