Abstract
As the title implies the article describes the experimentally-phonetic study on the peculiarities of the intonation to a corpus of complex sentences and direct speech in Ameri- can, British, Canadian and Irish national varieties of English. The comparative analysis of the national varieties of English pronunciation shows that they may vary in the use of final into- national boundary tones. In this article it is also noted the case of «American Drawl» which is mainly typical of the American variety of English
