Abstract
Data on the occurring seismic activity manifestations and earthquakes at Kuznetsk coal basin on the example of Belovo district, where the biggest number of manifestations were registered, are given. Analysis of the intensity, geographic focus, and time of seismic manifestations registered near 21 settlement is given. The possibility of the recorded earthquakes relationship with the production of mass explosions in open cast coal mines of Belovo district is reviewed. The data on the number and maximum magnitude of earthquakes in various settlements are given.
The reasons of occurrence, the relationship of earthquakes with the Earth internal zones structure and the processes occurring in them are reviewed, Classi cation according to genetic characteristics and location of the earthquake focal depth is given. Historical information about the catastrophic consequences of earthquakes in the world is presented.
