Abstract

Analysis of practical experience in conducting open and underground mining shows a high degree of danger to staff at the workplace in coal mining, the cause of which is a set of in uencing factors, not excluding the "human" one, and also challenging geological conditions. Within the frames of RFFI project No. 16-47-420490 manless geo-technology "Highwall" (a complex of deep seam development - KGRP) is considered as an intermediate level of open-underground method of coal seams mining. For safe mining using KGRP main conditions regulating coal mining technology without men present at a coal face are formulated and included into “Project of technological regulations of coal mining with deep seam development complex”. An important result of this work is to improve the safety of mining operations in coal mining by open and underground methods using manless technology, i.e. with no workers at the mine coal face. It was established that the technological process of coal mining without the presence of operating personnel is safe with respect to the traditional one. Consequently, the productivity and the volumes of extracted minerals are limited only by the technical characteristics of the complex, administrative and organizational issues and geological conditions.
