Abstract
This project gives the solution for reducing the number of road accidents, which mostly occurs among the motorcyclist. Nowadays, the number of fatal accidents occurs due to absence of the helmet. So here comes the smart helmet-intelligent safety system for motorcyclist using Raspberrypi which protects life from the fatal accidents. It is a wireless system and has three modules. The first module has sensors like Piezo- electric sensor, alcohol sensor. Piezo-electric sensor senses whether the motorcyclist met with an accident. Alcohol sensor senses whether the motorcyclist had consumes any alcohol.This module hasdigital keypads for setting the password for the bike.The second moduledecides whether to ignite the engine,along with Raspberry pi it is mounted on the bike.Which has U-slot functioning like speed governor to limit the speed of the bike and gives alarm. This module has certain provisions like GPS-track the location,GSM -sending the information to the registered number.The third module helps to reduce the speed in certain zones like schools, hospital, temple and colleges,this module will be affixed in those zones. The Raspberry Pi enabled smart helmet is the best solution and also a cost effective method for the motorcyclist.
