Abstract
In this article author reviews a specifi c kind of the art designated for the poor — a lubok. It was common to fi nd pictures illustrating heroic events of the Russo-Japanese war of 1904—1905 among satiric, battle and portrait popular prints. The article describes some of the most interesting prints dedicated to the theme of a Russian soldiers' heroism.
