Abstract
Recent developments in FACTS have produced a device Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) for power quality improvement. The UPQC find its way between sending end and receiving end. Closed loop UPQC is used to regulate the receiving end voltage. This work proposes suitable controller for closed loop controlled Inter Leaved Boost Converter (ILBC) - UPQC system. The UPQC uses a DVR and shunt active filter to improve power quality. Closed loop Proportional Integral (PI), Proportional Resonant (PR) and Fuzzy Logic (FL) controlled systems are investigated and their responses are compared in terms of time response parameters. The simulation results for PI and FL Controlled UPQC systems are discussed in detail. The simulation results indicate that FLC-ILBC-UPQC system gives best time domain response.
