Abstract
Lyubava in "Sadko" by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov is the ambiguous and complex image. Only in a small degree, she owes her existence in the Opera to bylina's plot. Moreover, it would be more correct to consider this character as another implementation of an archetypal image of desolate women. The article considers the reasons of the enlargement of the image of Lubava in Rimsky-Korsakov's opera. Besides in this article the author made the comparative analysis of the image and the means of its realization with its sister heroines of the other operas about mermaid's. As a result of such intertextual analysis the author made the conclusion about the great conditionality of the musical characteristics of Lubava by the archetype.
