Abstract
A hero's journey, which David Bordwell defined as “the straight corridor” of classical narration, is the important mechanism of storytelling. A hero has his purpose, an antagonist places barriers on the way to the purpose, a hero overcomes or doesn't overcome them and story comes to happy or unhappy end. The nonclassical narration in turn offers opposite option — deviation of hero's journey, system of digressions from this route. Various models of deviation of hero's journey can be seen in the Russian movies of the last years, in particular, such as “On Saturday” by Alexander Mindadze, “To Live” by Vasily Sigarev, “Missing person” by Anna Fenchenko, “The collector of bullets” by Aleksander Vartanov.
