Abstract
This article is devoted to some stylistic features Nikolai Tcherepnin's piano cycle “Russian alphabet in pictures”, clearly reflects the artistic and aesthetic tastes of the Silver Age. Nikolai Tcherepnin was the creator of the genre of musical illustration in piano music, based on the ideas of “Gesamtkunstwerk”. The originality of his piano style is based on synthesis of the elements of the national musical language with European traditions. Its specific feature is also a special sophistication of musical textures.
