Abstract

The present article reveals, structures and analyzes characteristic features of plot development of game projects while taking into consideration artistic expressive aspects as well as various technological and stylistic limitations imposed by the digital environment, in which a game project exists, and its genre. Moreover, the present paper deals with the performance features of archetypes in digital environment and their role in the elevation of emotional intensity and memorability of the game experience obtained by the user within the framework of gameplay. The findings of the present study have theoretical importance based on the attempt to adapt the instruments and groundwork regarding the principles of story development of other art forms such as cinema and literature to the implementation in such a highly sophisticated and fast developing discipline as game design in order to increase the artistic and aesthetic value of a project and deepen the sense of immersion in the gameplay, as well as to facilitate and fasten the self-identification of a user with a character within the gameplay. The practical importance of the procured data lies in the possibility to use the present best practices for simplification of story development of a game project based on the understanding of the plot structure and the dynamics of the development of each of its part, which in its turn allows decreasing the number of inner contradictions that are able to considerably lower the quality of a project.
