Abstract
Abstract : There are more than 100 different types of dwarfism. Achondroplasia is the most common of these conditions. The aim of this report is to discuss the anaesthetic management of these patients, and to emphasize the difficulties that can be encountered while anaesthetizing these patients. A 40-year-old achondroplastic elderly parturient underwent emergency caesarean section under general anaesthesia. We did not encounter any problem related with airway. The operation went on without any complications. There are risks in anaesthetizing an achondroplastic patient both in regional and general anaesthesia. Careful preoperative assessment is a must in thipatients.Anaesthestic plan varies from individual to individual.
