Abstract
The article investigates the genesis of approaches to diagnostics of the structural development of the national economy in correlation with the following dynamic categories of the economic and social systems structuring: «transformation», «shift» and «change». A consistent cell chart of economic, mathematical and econometric approaches to studying the structural development has been developed. The paper analyzed the structural development dynamics of Russia and Ukraine for the period of 2006-2016.
