Role of Self-esteem on Managing Anxiety and Controlling Depression

Abstract
The phenomenon of Self-Esteem is a growing topic for behavioural investigation as researchers strive to understand its influence on various social interactions. Recent research indicates that perceived self - esteem play an integral part in Managing Depression and controlling Anxiety in every aspects of life. A review of the literature highlights the need for examination of the relationship of perceived Self-Esteem as a useful concept for the Management of Stress, Mental Depression, and Anxiety. The present research examines two null hypotheses that investigate the measurement of Self-Esteem as a predictor in managing Depression and Anxiety. 120 adolescents' males and females were taken for the study. Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Beck Depression Inventory and Beck Anxiety Inventory Scale were used for the measurement of all the variables. Descriptive statistics, Correlation and Regression analysis were used for data Analysis. Results indicated that there was a significant relationship between SelfEsteem and the variables of Depression and Anxiety. Management of Depression and Anxiety components emerged as statistically significant with respect to the relationship with perceived SelfEsteem.
