Reasons of Ceasing the Secondary Education of Girls

Abstract
This study aims to determine the girls ceasing reasons of secondary education. Study group of this researh consists of 46 parents who are from the centre of Şanlıurfa, its towns and villages and also have not sent their daughters to high school after compulsory education. Data were obtained by a semistructured interview form and a tape recorder. In data analysis process, content analysis method was used. According to the results, economic conditions of families, mixed gender education, clothing, roles that society formed for girls are the reasons of ceasing the secondary education.
