Abstract
The article actualizes the concept «multiculturalism» in terms of the modern British society. The object of investigation is lexemes nominating evaluative characteristics in the English language from the point of view of the cognitive approach. Basing on the material of the play by of the British writer, David Edgar, the author analyses linguistic concepts which testify British citizens' disregard to migrants, and, consequently, the distraction of the multicultural model. Thus, general conclusion is made on the study of the linguistic material, represented in the relevant fine literature.
