THE RELATİONSHİP BETWEEN INTERİM INCOME STATEMENTS AND ANNUAL INCOME STATEMENTS: A STUDY FOR BANKİNG SECTOR

Financial statements which shows the financial condition of the firms have to be prepared in a right and reliable way and should present the information in time. Presentation of the information in time brings the interim financial reporting together. Interim financial reports which are formed to update the financial information of the latest annual complete set of financial statements also helps to predict about the next year's financial statements. In this study, regarding the financial data between 2003-2010 years of the banks which are operating in Turkey, the relation between annual financial statements and interim financial statements has been inspected. According to the results of the study, there is a positive and strong relation between annual financial reports and first quarter, semi and last quarter financial reports. In addition, it is possible to predict the annual financial reports with first quarter, semi and last quarter financial reports.
