Abstract

In the paper the author analyzes Shevchenkian documents deposited in the personal archival fond of a Ukrainian journalist Mykola Shudria, which comprises the fond 299 of the Institute of Manuscript of VNLU. These documents represent both Mykola Shudria's Shevchenko research heritage and his collection of Shevchenkian studies of other investigators. The article revealed that Mykola Shudria's attention in Shevchenko Studies had mostly been centered on Kobzar's biography and origin, Ukrainian areas associated with the personality of Taras Shevchenko, his poems and paintings. The most prominent works of Mykola Shudria reviewed in the article are a novel "The head of the pedunculate oak" revealing Taras Shevchenko's genealogy and his Shevchenkian publicistic writings
