Abstract
This article contains the following publication of the correspondence of a famous professor of St. Petersburg University, academician of Petersburg Academy of Sciences K. M. Bestuzhev-Riumin (1826–1897) to M. M. Berezhkov (1850–1935), a professor of Russian history in Nizhyn Historical and Philological Institute of Prince Bezborodko. This publication presents nine handwritten copies of the letters of K. M. Bestuzhev-Riumin to M. M. Berezhkov for the period from September 1882 to July 1883. The letters are analyzed and published for the first time. The researched epistolary documents are stored in a personal archival fond of M. M. Berezhkov at the Institute of Manuscript of VNLU. The scientific value of the publication is justified by the letters' information potential, which contributes to the detailed study of the scientists' biographies, as well as to the illustration of the specifics of their scientific interests during the stated chronological period. It is further enhanced by the absence of an in-depth source study both in Ukrainian and Russian historiographies and also by the established fact of the absence of a packagekit of response letters of M. M. Berezhkov to K. M. Bestuzhev-Riumin
