FAMILY AND LEISURE RELATIONSHIP: DUZCE SAMPLE

Industrialization, urbanization and technological advances have changed the way people use time, and undoubtedly this has also spread to the inside of the family. Families with the basic functions of the socialization of children have given the vast majority of this function to the organizational institutions especially in some special cases (parents working). The fact that the ones who are free outside of the work and school time can not be evaluated effectively by family members has a significant effect on being indifferent to each other. Our research based on these considerations, covers high school students of 2014-2015 academic year studying in Düzce. In the survey which was conducted in 12 high schools in different social structure; 83-item questionnaire was administered to 1122 students. In the research, how much time students spend with their families outside of school and whether they effectively spend it with them or not were tried to be analyzed. Following the survey; it has been asserted that the effective time students spend daily with their families is very limited and as a fun activity they generally tend to "watch tv series". Also in the survey it has been indentified that parents spend many hours on watching TV, while the children on the internet.
