Abstract
Small heart anomalies are deviations in the formation of the heart, which have become more prevalent, especially among school-age children. The difficulty in diagnosing is that they have minimal clinical symptoms or are generally asymptomatic. One of the most frequent small heart anomalies is the prolapse of the mitral valve. The article presents the clinical and instrumental characteristics of mitral valve prolapse and gives recommendations on how these children should be kept by a cardiologist in a polyclinic.
