Abstract
The root canal system has a complex structure. To determine the prevalence of C-shaped canals in the mandibular premolars, data from 1800 cone-ray computer tomograms were studied. The prevalence of C-shaped canals in the mandibular first premolars was 16.5 %, in the second premolar – 3.5 %, symmetry of the C-shaped root canals in the mandibular first premolar was observed in 62.5 % of the examined, in the second premolar – in 66.6 %. The analysis of the configuration of the C-type root canals by the classification Melton in the modifica- tion of Fan was also carried out
