Abstract
The study of phraseological units remains an actual problem of linguistic research. This article is re- veal the semantic features of phraseological units in case of the Japanese language. This article is present an analysis of the semantic significance of the individual components on the example of phraseological units with the component "clothes". As a result, the analysis identifies the main groups for this classification – negative, indirect, direct. The most numerous group was the first group – the phraseological units with the negative signif- icance of the component. This is can be explained by the main signs of phraseological units as integrity, imagery, emotional expressiveness and idiomaticity
