Abstract
The study explores the extent of use of library facilities and services by the faculty members of selected arts and science government colleges affiliated to Bharathidasan University aiming at the information search pattern; purposes of seeking and collecting required information; preference of utilizing information resources and services; the users' satisfaction on the services provided by the selected libraries; and the problems associated with information seeking. A total of 201 faculty members from five colleges were surveyed through questionnaire. It was found that majority of the respondents are found to be competent in searching and retrieving required information. However, there are a few problems identified in information search pattern.
