TRAINING OF SOCIAL SPHERE SPECIALISTS IN THE ACTIVITY OF INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY CONSORTIUMS

Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of international experience of master's teaching of social work, including the creation and implementation of international, intercultural training programs of social sphere specialist's. The structure and content of international programs having been implemented by international university consortia are grounded. Innovative forms and methods of student's teaching at partner universities, that are part of the educational associations are highlighted. An interesting example of European Master in Social Work with Families and Children (MFamily)”, proposed by international university consortium, that includes four partner schools: University of Gothenburg (Sweden), University of Stavanger (Norway), University of Lisbon (Portugal) and Makarere University (Kampala, Uganda) is provided. The structure and content of the proposed consortium's program are revealed. It covers 120 credits ECTS, lasts four semesters (30 ECTS credits per semester). Each group spends the first three semesters in Lisbon, Gothenburg and Stavanger, respectively before moving on to writing a master's thesis. The most part of content modules are intended for obtaining unique European and global perspective on social work with children and families. Despite the variety of proposed modules, all of them meet the ultimate goals of the course and program. Another international Master Program in social work are developed by a consortium of universities in six European countries, that included: University of South Denmark, University of Groningen (Netherlands), Vilnius (Lithuania), Freiburg (Germany), Malaga (Spain) and Gabrovo (Bulgaria). This program operates successfully in the European educational space since 2012. It is explained in the informational documents of consortium, that the training program “European Master in Social Work” is a program designed for two years of study in 6 European countries for obtaining a master's level education in social work. It offers courses, dealing with problems of social inclusion and combating poverty in the European context. The structure of the program includes modules, aimed at the disclosure of social security and topical approaches to social work in various parts of Europe.
