Abstract
In this study, effects of pot types on morphological properties of lettuce plant grown in the greenhouse conditions have been investigated. Pot types were fabric (smart pot), pots with holes (air pot) and classic plastic pots. Lettuce seedlings were transplanted into the pots when they reached to four leave stage (22/02/2016). Pots were organized according to randomized complete block design with 7 replications. Perlite was selected as a growing media and Hoagland nutrition solution was used for plant growth. Moisture of perlite was maintained at field capacity during the experiment. Plants were harvested at 06.04.2016. According to morphological measurements, the best results were obtained from lettuce grown in air plots. Excessive evaporation from smart pots affected lettuce growth negatively.
