Abstract

The article discusses the effectiveness of the omission as syntactic means of expressive influence in the media discourse. The study analyzed 120 texts in Russian and German. The omission is used as a pause, which enhances the subsequent emotional outburst. This figure of speech also acts as means of conveying emotions and effect of presence, carries out an euphemism role, makes an impression of natural communication.
