Abstract
This research was carried out to determine the effect of different substrates in soilless culture on enlarging bulb of Sternbergia lutea in unheated greenhouse at Ege University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture between 2005–2005. At the research, flower bulbs of Sternbergia lutea has got a diameter of 1–1.2 cm, were used as a plant material and perlite, coco peat and zeolite were used as cultivation media in soilless culture. The research was set up using randomized plot design with three replicates and 20 bulbs were planted in each replicate. Plant feeding and irrigation were done by drip irrigation system once a day. Bulb diameter, stem diameter, root length, leaf number, leaf length, leaf width were obtained from the research and tested with variance and LSD. As a result of analysis, the highest bulb diameter was achieved in coco peat (2.43cm) and the lowest bulb diameter was obtained in zeolite (1.83 cm).The longest root (13.86 cm) and leave (34.80cm) is archieved in cocopeat.
