Abstract
The problem of professional competence of students was investigated. The approaches to the description of professional competences and their assessment of students from developing countries were considered. The economic portrait of Ukrainian universities typical student was analyzed. Ways of improving the efficiency of the educational process of modern students in economic specialties training were suggested.
