Abstract
Natural gas has found its place at the heart of the energy discussions in the last years. Europe as a whole is a major importer of natural gas. The decline in Europe‟s natural gas production in recent years has resulted in increase of its dependence on imported natural gas. On the other hand since the late 2000s, unconventional gas has become important new energy issue to reach public consciousness. The aim of the research is to assess the European shale gas potential and find solutions for its development. The case study illustrates the advantages and deficiencies of shale gas development in Europe based on empiric analysts‟ calculations. I appreciate the value and credibility of the used sources in this research.
