Abstract
Binders are one of the important excipient are added into the tablet formulation. These substances promote cohesiveness and used for converting powder in to granules. In present investigation our aim is to study the effect of different binding agents such has colocasia and basan powder I was taken standard as starch (5%), colocasia was taken while boiling of colocasia then heated the extract by the evaporation. The water is evaporated and gummy water is obtained and 5gr of basan powder was taken and extracted. Then filtrate was taken by using the binders paracetamol(500mg 20 tablets) tablets were prepared and evaluated The evaluation results are hardness is 6 for all three binders, disintegration time was found to be 5mins for starch,30mins for colocasia,45mins for basan powder and friabilities are less than1 that are 0.673,0.701,0.689. By the evaluation results the starch is better than another binder when comparison.
