RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN UKRAINE: REINTERPRETATION OF THE NOTIONWITH IN MODERN SOCIAL HISTORICAL TERMS

The article contains an analysis of interconnection of education and religion as important factors of socio-cultural development of society. The special emphasis is made upon relevance of deep scrutiny of the term “religious education” in modern socio-religious situation, taking into consideration European and worldwide experience. The conclusion is made that understanding of such notion as “religious education” within only confessional activity at the modern stage is not enough to reveal all the key aspects of the term, because modern society desires to include religious elements into the educational process and into the process of upbringing of the students at the basis of values, which are the core, some sort of fundament that unites different levels and spheres of the culture.
