Abstract
The article analyses and specifies the notion of efficiency as an interdisciplinary category. Due to semantic analysis, the main meanings of efficiency concept and notions attached to it within the framework of various scientific disciplines are allocated. The comparative analysis of efficiency concept and the notions of productiveness, effectiveness, performance, contentment, successfulness is carried out. The interconnection between effectiveness and efficiency as psychological indices of group and / or human activity is presented. The definition of efficiency as a psychological category is given.
