Abstract
Basing on the analysis of scientific methodological literature it was stated that in the educational process of physical education in the higher educational institutions the testing of physical training is mainly used as monitoring of functional abilities of students. There is also application of functional tests by means of pre-dosed physical load in evaluation of functional abilities. In our opinion, application of the methodology for determination of functional abilities by means of physical load with changing energy over one cycle and certain tests of physical training allows making a complex, more exact and multidimensional evaluation of the level of students' functional abilities.
