The performance evaluation of voice quality in packet network of railway transport

The article presents a comparative evaluation of two methods of assessing the speech transmission quality in rail transport, based on the use of subjective MOS scores and the objective calculation of the indicator «R-factor». These indicators are considered in the example of a packet network communication organized between the dispatcher and the officer on duty at the station. The existence features of all components of indicator «R-factor» in rail transport are considered and determined the impact of the quality of operational communication in the transportation process.
