Abstract

The prospects of bioelectrochemical systems are simultaneous electricity production in them and wastewater treatment, which can be a raw materials for this process. Anode biofilm plays a main role in this biotechnological process. The biofilm can be formed in different ways. The results of research of highly exoelectrogenic anode biofilm forming for bioelectrochemical systems are presented. The substrates for such bioelectrochemical systems are bioavailable components of waste waters. As a natural source of exoelectrogens activated sludge from aeration station was chosen. It is shown that the combination of known procedures for anode biofilm forming reduces the duration of its formation while preserving the values of the current density in the bioelectrochemical systems.
