Abstract
The article considers alternative approaches to the interpretation of categories«region», «socio-economic system», «regional socio-economic system». Inherent basic aspects of the regional socio-economic system are identified. The attributive features of the region are presented. An author's approach to the definition of «region»,«regional socio-economic system» is formulated.
