Abstract

Modern society imposes high requirements to the personality.First of all, it is geared to the employee with a strong performance of professional strength and competencies.Optimum combination of these qualities ensures a stablespecial-ist'scompetitiveness in the labor market. The basis of professional growth of the personality is laid at the initial stage of training in the course of which some ideas of values, meanings, the basic rules and standards of the chosen profession are formed in the students' consciousness. Further the set and the content of the personal value system are used as the ethical behavior regulator and a peculiar life vector. Therefore as authors consider, the research aimed to the revelation of peculiarities of the educational value "professionalism" at first-year medical students is up-to-date and timely. The article provides the results of a free associative experiment among the first-year medical students. Based on the analysis of thestructure and the content of the associative field of the stimulus word "professionalism" the authors drew the following conclusions. In the first-year students' consciousness the "professionalism" is represented as a complex, multilevel, multicomponent concept. The factors, means also personal qualitiesproviding the learning of the profession convey the main meaning.
