Abstract
Small and medium-sized enterprises play a special role in the system of entrepreneurship. SMEs are considered as the basis of a market economy, as a key infrastructure to ensure its smooth operation. Observations showed that the organizational structures used in the SMEs of Armenia often do not correspond to the basic principles of organizational structures. In observed companies cross-shaped and star-shaped organizational structures, multiple subordination, and other manifestations of a non-optimal structures are often encountered, which can lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of SMEs and the market economy of the country.
