Abstract
A child presented with orbital cellulitis which followed the occurrence of a pustule over the forehead. The case was treated as an emergency in coordination with an internist. The use of higher antibiotics was necessitated. The eventual clinical outcome was good. However, imaging showed extensive spread of the infection with certain classic radiologic signs. The case is being presented to emphasize the need for a high degree of suspicion in case of a child with orbital cellulitis and the necessity of prompt and adequate antibiotic therapy.
