Abstract
In the opinion of the author, if we keep the invert level of pipe below the bed level, we can increase the Hydraulic Mean Radius up to certain percentage, which will reduce the precipitation in pipe culverts due to increase in velocity of flow as explained above. For the discussion, the author has taken the no flow cross – section upto 400. In such case the hydraulic mean radius has increased upto 163.79% . The graph has also shown the increase in hydraulic mean radius from 0 to 400 when there is no flow.
